The RYA VHF Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio. This includes both fixed and hand held equipment using International channels.

The AEC1 is a 5 day course, and is a step up from the RYA 1-Day Diesel Engine Course. It is what many marine engineers will know as the original AEC. The objective of the course is to provide a basic theoretical knowledge and some practical hands on experience of diesel engines and systems. To make the course as practical as possible we use a Volvo and Yanmar engine which we strip down to their component parts and hopefully put back together again.
