The objective of the course is to provide a basic theoretical knowledge and some practical hands on experience of diesel engines and systems. To make the course as practical as possible we use a Volvo and Yanmar engine which we strip down to their component parts and hopefully put back together again.

The course runs for three weeks (excluding weekends) and follows the Code of Practice for the Safe and Efficient Operation of Remotely Operated Vehicles, IMCA R 004 Rev.3.

This course meets the requirements of Stability Training of the code of practice.
