Description
Radar and Electronic Chart Systems are common place on small commercial vessels and workboats, and when used correctly can be very versatile aids to navigation.
MCA Workboat Code Edition 3 and MCA Sport & Pleasure Code vessels may now require you to hold the new MCA courses for electronic chart systems in table A5.3. SeaRegs Training have MCA approval to run the MCA Electronic Chart Systems (approved) and Bridge Watchkeeping Procedures.
MGN 691 was released by the MCA in December 2023 which states existing seafarers who have completed the SQA Units for Electronic Chart Systems (ECS) and Radar training will continue to be able to use these qualifications as evidence of meeting the training requirements for Workboat Code edition 2 and Workboat Code 3 providing the training was completed prior to the 31st March 2024.
The course is delivered using our IMO and STCW compliant simulator that allows the instructor to create dynamic situations such as collision courses, meteorology and hazards to name a few.
