The RYA VHF Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio. This includes both fixed and hand held equipment using International channels.

Radar is probably the most versatile of all electronic navigation aids, but the best results are only obtained when you know how to use all the functions correctly. The IRPCS state that if you have a radar, you must know how to use it.

The AEC1 is a 5 day course, and is a step up from the RYA 1-Day Diesel Engine Course. It is what many marine engineers will know as the original AEC. The objective of the course is to provide a basic theoretical knowledge and some practical hands on experience of diesel engines and systems. To make the course as practical as possible we use a Volvo and Yanmar engine which we strip down to their component parts and hopefully put back together again.

Training can be tailored for individuals, small groups or companies and there are several training options available.
