This two-day entry level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

This fun and educational course is an introduction to powerboating techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, everyday boat handling skills and the use of safety equipment typically found on board.

This course covers the practical use of pilotage and passage planning by day on coastal waters using both traditional and electronic navigation techniques. This makes the course a great option for those who are comfortable using their boat, but a bit apprehensive about going further afield or venturing to areas that they are unfamiliar with.

The RYA Advanced Powerboat course is for anyone looking to undertake more adventurous trips, and for professional boaters add on the exam for the Certificate of Competence to be able to operate a commercial vessel or workboats further offshore in the hours of darkness. The commercial limitations are; Category 3, up to 20 miles from a safe haven.

This one day course provides a good mixture of theoretical and practical sessions covering basic first aid and basic life support skills on vessels operating up to 60 miles to sea. Accepted by the RYA and MCA for Commercial Endorsements and the RYA for Instructors.

The one day Survival course can be used for candidates requiring an STCW Sea Survival course to work on a vessel or as part of the commercial endorsement requirement.

From 1 September 2013, anyone applying to the MCA for a Certificate of Competence will need a HELM certificate in addition to the existing requirements. There are 2 levels of HELM; Operational level (3 day course) and Management level (5 day course).

STCW PSSR and Security Awareness combined in a one day course, the morning is PSSR and afternoon Security Awareness. Both courses can be completed on their own as a half day module if you don't need to do them both.

The training forms part of the requirements for basic training for seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board ship on the business of that ship as part of the ship's complement with designated safety or pollution prevention duties in the operation of the ship. The training must be undertaken before new entrants are assigned to any such shipboard duties.

This training is now required by all personnel employed or engaged onboard ships which the ISPS code applies (International Ship and Port Security Code). This applies to any vessel over 500 gross tonnage as well as port facilities serving these vessels. This half day course is based on Regulation VI/6, paragraph 1 and Section A-VI/6, paragraph 4 of the STCW Convention and Code 1978, as amended.

The Efficient Deck Hand Course is a practical and theory course covering deck seamanship skills and ship knowledge. Efficient Deck Hand (EDH) is the qualifying examination for an Able Seafarer Deck certificate. It is also a requirement for the issue of an Officer of the Watch (Yacht less than 3000GT) Certificate of Competency.

MCA Workboat Code Edition 3 and MCA Sport & Pleasure Code may now require you to hold the new MCA courses for electronic chart systems and radar stated in table A5.3. SeaRegs Training have MCA approval to run the MCA Electronic Chart Systems (approved) and Bridge Watchkeeping Procedures and the MCA Radar & Meteorology courses.

The MCA approved Fire Safety course is aimed at skippers and crew of small workboats and small commercial vessels. The course has been launched primarily to meet the manning requirements of Workboat Code 3 and MCA Sport & Pleasure Code. The course also meets the requirements for those applying for their MCA Boatmaster Licence (BML).

The MCA Stability for Workboats, Pilot Boats and Small Commercial Vessels (SCV) has been introduced to meet the requirements in the Workboat Code Edition 3 and MCA Sport & Pleasure Code for Masters to attend an approved stability course. This course meets the requirements of Stability Training of the code of practice.

The AEC1 is a 5 day course, and is a step up from the RYA 1-Day Diesel Engine Course. It is what many marine engineers will know as the original AEC. The objective of the course is to provide a basic theoretical knowledge and some practical hands on experience of diesel engines and systems. To make the course as practical as possible we use a Volvo and Yanmar engine which we strip down to their component parts and hopefully put back together again.

The AEC 2 is the second half to the full AEC qualification. It is a 35 hour, 5 day enhanced course. The aim is to give the basic training to the engineer officers who want to pursue a career on 'Small Vessels'. The necessary training outlines the certification structure, examination and training requirements. It also explains the regulatory requirements regarding the implementation of intended training elements.

SeaRegs Training has MCA approval for the 1-day Crisis Management and Human Behaviour course. Under MSN 1853 Boatmaster Regulations, the Crisis Management and Human Behaviour can be used towards gaining the Passenger Endorsements.

The course is designed for officers in charge of a navigational watch, for experienced officers and those with navigational responsibilities. It is based on the Merchant Navy Training Board and IMO 1.27 Model Course syllabus. The training aims to equip the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to keep a safe navigational watch using electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS), interfaced with other onboard equipment to maintain safety of navigation.

We provide both practical and oral preparation courses for the Master 200/OOW 500 & BML examinations. Training can be tailored for individuals, small groups or companies and there are several training options available. For companies with a number of employees to qualify as Boatmasters we are able to design a package to suit their needs. In addition to the generic syllabus for the underpinning knowledge, we can provide training for some Endorsements.

Crews competing in offshore and long distance races are required to have attend a World Sailing Offshore Safety course within the last 5 years. It is a 2-day course covering care & maintenance of safety equipment, storm sails, damage control, crew routines, man overboard prevention & recovery, practical fire precautions & fire fighting. Some members of the crew may also be require to complete a first aid course too.

A one-day course giving you a basic understanding of radar as an aid to navigation and collision avoidance. Radar is probably the most versatile of all electronic navigation aids, but the best results are only obtained when you know how to use all the functions correctly. The IRPCS state that if you have a radar, you must know how to use it.

A 1-day beginners' course to help you prevent and solve diesel engine failure. Mechanical failure is the main cause of rescue callouts to cruisers. Basic maintenance and engine care will help ensure that you are not part of this statistic. Most engine problems can be avoided by taking simple precautions, and you don't need a detailed mechanical knowledge. This course teaches you how your engine works, how to keep it healthy, and how to get it started again in the event of a breakdown.

The RYA VHF Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio. This includes both fixed and hand held equipment using International channels.

This one day course is for anyone interested in First Aid from a boating perspective.

Sea Survival training is one of the most important courses SeaRegs Training run. An introduction to motor cruising with the aim of being a useful crew member and being able to assist the helm. Ideal for introducing family and friends to crewing a motorboat or for anyone working on a boat but have little or no experience.

RYA Helmsman is a two-day course covering basic boat handling, engine checks and safety. This course is ideal for new owners conscious of the difficulty and hazards of boat handling in the marina. It is useful for crews as well as skippers. Apart from the obvious safety benefits of extra boat handlers on board, it adds interest if everyone can contribute to the trip.

An RYA Yachtmaster Certificate of Competence is often the ultimate aim of aspiring skippers. It is a well known, highly respected qualification worldwide, proving your experience and competence as a skipper. We provide 4 tailor-made training days to prepare you for the exam, which we give 1 days for following the course.

RYA Start Yachting is an introductory course for beginners with the aim of giving experience of helming a yacht, sail setting, rope work & safety onboard, as well as giving the experience of life at sea, and living onboard a boat for the weekend. This course can be completed by chartering our yacht Phoebe on a Skippered Charter basis, from Friday evening at 17:30, to Sunday afternoon at 15:00.

5 day course suitable as an introduction to yachting following the RYA Competent Crew Course or for those with some experience; the RYA Day Skipper Sail course is an option. Alternatively the 5 days can be used by anyone wishing to brush up on their skills.

A comprehensive introduction nautical theory for inexperienced skippers.

This course will take your theory knowledge to the standard required for the Yachtmaster™ Coastal and Yachtmaster™ Offshore practical exams, concentrating on advanced navigation and meteorology skills.

The course is designed for officers in charge of a navigational watch, for experienced officers and those with navigational responsibilities. The objective of the course is to familiarise the user in the dangerous goods requirements of the Workboat Code and the relevant parts and chapters of the IMDG Code. The course covers all training requirements outlined in Appendix 5 of the Workboat Code. Our e-learning course is delivered completely online, via a series of pre-recorded videos, narrated text and exercises. It takes approximately 3 - 4 hours to complete.

Anyone requiring an ICC valid for inland waters must pass the CEVNI Test. A valid ICC is often required for cruising Europe’s inland waters. To validate your ICC (International Certificate of Competence) for inland waters you must take the CEVNI test, which checks your knowledge of the rules and signs that skippers of pleasure craft are expected to know and follow.

Completing the VHF course, can now be achieved by people from all walks of life. If you find it a struggle to get time off from work then the RYA's new interactive service suits you.

A compulsory online course for new RYA Commercial Endorsement holders.

The Essential Navigation and Seamanship Course is an aspiring classroom and online course for anyone interested in sailing, motor boating, sea angling or diving – or pretty much anything else on the water! This course will give you the essential knowledge needed when you’re afloat, from navigation to safety to passage planning. RYA Interactive courses can be taken anytime, anywhere and at your own speed. All you need is a device and the internet.

The Day Skipper Theory Course is a comprehensive introduction to cruising for inexperienced skippers. The course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.

The Coastal/Yachtmaster Theory Course requires pre-course knowledge to Day Skipper Theory level. It brings an understanding of secondary ports, a greater knowledge of tidal streams & heights, weather, safety and position fixing in much greater detail.

Students wishing to achieve the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Theory certificate should be at Coastal/Yachtmaster Theory level with their existing theory. Apart from a thorough knowledge of position fixing and plotting the course requires a good understanding of latitude and longitude.

Highfield Level 2 Food Safety at Sea course is accepted by the MCA (also known as Food Hygiene), which are listed in MIN 689 and are suitable for crew working in the maritime industry where food handling takes place such as superyachts, workboats, cruise ships, ferries and offshore supply vessels. This course meets the requirements of the requirements set out in table A5.3 of Workboat Code 3 and the MCA Sport & Pleasure Code

Highfield Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling This course is suitable for attendees from land-based or maritime workplace environments. This qualification will introduce learners to moving and handling activities required for those starting work, returning to work or who need specific training in manual handling, as well as being a suitable qualification for refresher training. The objective of the qualification is to prepare learners for employment or to support a role in the workplace.

Highfield Level 2 Award in Health and Safety within the Workplace This course is suitable for attendees from land-based or maritime workplace environments. This qualification is designed to provide learners with knowledge of the basic health and safety practices essential in the workplace or onboard vessel as per legal obligations.

Highfield Level 2 Award in Risk Assessment The objective of the qualification is to prepare learners to be able to know the requirements of Risk assessment and the benefits in any environment. When teaching this course, we conduct practical risk assessments in small groups and write up our findings. If learners are coming from a maritime environment we will also ensure that we discuss the requirements of Risk assessment in the maritime environment.

Highfield Level 2 Award in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) This 5 hour course is suitable for attendees from land-based or maritime workplace environments. This qualification is aimed at those learners, who work in areas such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport and office environments, who may come into contact with hazardous substances.

The ROV Short Course, meets and extends the requirements of IMCA R04 (IMCA C 005 Rev.3) for ROV Pilot Technician, Grade 2, incorporating the new IMCA ROV Introductory Training Course. The course runs for three weeks (excluding weekends) and follows the Code of Practice for the Safe and Efficient Operation of Remotely Operated Vehicles, IMCA R 004 Rev.3.

This course is designed to provide foundational knowledge and skills for the operation of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) within inland waterways and limited coastal areas. The program is tailored for skippers and mates of manned small commercial vessels, as well as owners, operators, and harbour authorities.
